DAY 01 - IZMIR / KADIFEKALE / PERGAMUM
Morning pick up from hotel in Izmir/Kusadasi/Selcuk. Depart on
drive through IZMIR City centre with a stop at KADIFEKALE
(translated as Velvet Castle) for
panoramic views over the bay and city. We then depart to Bergama
and the ruins of
PERGAMUM (previously a renowned cultural and political center and
used by the Romans as an administrative center for the province of
Asia). Here we will visit the ruins of the Acropolis and the
Asclepion with its theatre.
Overnight in Bergama
DAY 02 - THYATIRA / SARDES / PHILADELPHI / PAMUKKALE
After breakfast and check out, depart to visit the ruins of
THYATIRA (founded by the Lydians), SARDES (wealthy capital of the
Lydian Empire) and PHILADELPHIA
(important for the spreading of thought patterns and activities of
the Hellenistic civilisation and christian faith). Our day will end
on arrival to Pamukkale with a visit
to the natural formation of the travertens (Cotton Cliffs) and
ruins of HIERAPOLIS.
Overnight in Pamukkale
DAY 03 - APHRODISIAS / EPHESUS / VIRGIN MARY
Breakfast, check out and departure to visit the ruins of
APHRODISIAS (one of the most important archaeological sites of the
Greek and Roman periods in Turkey). We then continue to Selcuk
where we will visit the Ancient City of EPHESUS
(representing many different facets of Ancient Greek and Roman
culture) and finally
the HOUSE of VIRGIN MARY (where she is said to have spent the last
of her days).Overnight in Kusadasi
NOTES:
a) This program can also begin wıth arrival to Bergama in the mornıng (day
02) endıng with last overnight ın Bergama (day 01)
b) This program can also beıng with arrıval to Pamukkale in the
morning(day 03) ending with last overnight in Pamukkale (day 02)
c)If client on 03rd night hotel stay wishes instead to have overnight bus
ticket to other poınt in Turkey, this can be substituted.
